    This position is responsible for managing and leading the on-going maintenance of all attractions, slides and equipment at the Fallsview Indoor Waterpark. This position will also include managing preventative maintenance programs of building systems such as HVAC, plumbing, fire prevention and electrical.


    Tasks include, but are not limited to: cost-control strategies, and reporting, including cost-benefit analysis of equipment and equipment upgrades/modifications. Successful candidate will be responsible for the Waterpark maintenance department, including the supervision of employees who will be servicing, maintaining and repairing equipment to ensure safe and energy efficient operations. Ability to take initiative to perform preventative maintenance measures on all slides/equipment as required, as well as diagnosis and repair of problems as they arise. Assist with emergency situations as are required and any other instructions or tasks that are set out by the Management Team. This position reports directly to the General Manager.


    • Demonstrated commitment, enthusiasm and passion to maximizing guest satisfaction in each stage of the guest experience. Establishes immediate credibility with guests and staff – leads all staff by example.
    • Proven experience leading and developing a maintenance team in a fast pace and high occupancy business including, planning, problem solving, budgeting, staffing and training. Minimum 3 years’ mechanical and supervisory experience is an asset.
    • Valid TSSA license is an asset.
    • Proven knowledge of public pools, water slides & Public Health Regulations.
    • Pool Operator certificate is an asset.
    • Proven General HVAC, plumbing, and electrical experience is an asset.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel
    • Demonstrated ability to maintain professional composure at all times, regardless of situation, while performing multiple tasks among staff, guests, resort management, and inspectors, etc.
    • Sets high performance standards and targets for each aspect of the operation, and demonstrates urgency to achieve critical goals and objectives.
    • Takes initiative to improve preventative maintenance programmes and optimize running time of equipment (minimize downtime).
    • Responsible for the scheduling of Maintenance Department to reflect business demands in a fair and responsible manner in compliance with company policy.
    • Responsible for Asset management of Building, HVAC and Slide Equipment.
    • Commitment and passion to maximizing guest satisfaction in each stage of the guest experience, particularly as they pertain to maintaining all rides as per TSSA ADM-AR and Public Health standards to ensure all guests’ experiences are enjoyable and safe.
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills and the ability to work under pressure and heat
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to be able to provide clear communication to guests and employees in both internal and external environments.
    • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the job (i.e. lifting 50lbs, climbing ladder, extreme heights).
    • Must be able to work all shifts including weekends, nights and holidays and occasionally on call.
    • General knowledge of WHMIS and health & safety procedures.
