    Reporting to the General Manager, the Aquarist/ Hobbyist (Fish Curator) will be responsible for maintaining the salt-water aquarium program at the Rainforest Café.

    Responsibilities

    Work with maintenance staff to maintain an automated aquatic exhibit for 2 large display aquariums. Complete water quality testing and analysis and maintenance. Ensure tanks remain clean and healthy for aquatic life. Ensure aquatic health including controlling diet, deeding, observation, record-keeping and quarantine procedures. Responsible for fish replacement including selection, compatibility and purchasing knowledge and experience.

    Qualifications

    • Previous experience with maintaining salt-water aquarium environments
    • Some mechanical aptitude as it pertains to operating mechanical water filtration systems
    • Previous experience with sharks as asset
    • Knowledge and understanding of applicable Ontario regulatory standards and best practices as they pertain to the aquarium industry (CAZA) maintenance and fish habit environments
